proposed locker setup feedback

Hi Folks, ever grateful for your feedback. I've spent the afternoon reading and learning about lockers for my 82 c20 -> k20. Here is what I am thinking of doing.. make sense?

Currently I have
rear: open 14 bolt ff with 4.10
front: open d44 with 4.09's (pinion needs replaced)
tcase is a 205 w/ passenger side drop if that matters

This has mainly been a street queen for me but I want to offroad it now, nothing insane but I don't ever want to have to get pulled out by a ford ;) I don't drive it in the winter on account of the 37's are sketchy as heck in snow anyways.

I am planning on getting a Yukon locker for the rear part # YGLGM14T-30. From what I have read, I like the price point, warranty and the feedback seems to be that it behaves better on road than a Detroit. I also like that I can use the existing open carrier and drop in this locker in an afternoon. Edit: anyone have experience w/ the powertrax locker is the Yukon worth the extra 100 bucks? I would tend to lean towards the better part as opposed to cheapest but not opposed to saving money if its same same.

I actually wasn't even planning on doing the front right away but since I have manual locking hubs, could I just weld up the front spider gears? My understanding is that as long as the hubs aren't locked in, I wont even feel / notice the lock.

Thoughts, feedback welcome.

For that price you can get a Detroit for your 14b FF.
