Booster from POL any good?

Has anyone had any bad luck with this brake booster from performance online?
If your using a different one and you're pleased with it, I would like to hear about it.

Thanks

Don't buy from them. If you do have a problem, they absolutely suck.

Was looking at those and was about to ask the same question, and see if they were an okay unit. Good to hear.

I'm sure the one offered by CPP is the exact same unit with different stickers on them. They are compareable in price, but feedback like this makes me hesitate a little to pull the trigger on a purchase.

What was your experience with POL that makes you say this? I've never ordered from POL. I've only bought drop shackles from CPP with no issues. But they are a pretty simple part to make and to install. I'm going to purchase a booster/master cylinder/prop valve combo this winter when I redo my entire brake system on my '72.

Just lookin' for some feedback on which unit to buy from which store. :)

Before I switched to hydroboost I was running a POL booster. It looked good and I had no problems with it.

Here's the sordid details if you're interested. Link

I recommend you get CPP parts and get them through Justin at Scott's Hot Rods. His company buys more than $300,000 of parts from CPP and he knows how to get things done with them. You'll get top notch service and a discount too. He's a forum vendor and here's a link to one of his threads so you can get his contact info. Shoot him a PM and tell him Steve sent you. Link

It's a universal booster. You'll need to buy a clevis kit which is $40 to install it. They don't tell you that. Not a bolt on booster.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. This is good stuff. I started in on research on single and dual diaphragms also. I've also ran onto a few comments about an oem rebuilt unit is better than an aftermarket.
I don't have alot of solid information just yet, but I do appreciate all your's input. As well I'm sure others do too.

I bought the one with the master cyl and prop valve. It's been on my truck for almost 5 years without a single problem.

I had all my brake and suspension parts from POl, was very pleased with them.

If you only need a booster,I had a remanufactured one for my other truck from rockauto Part # 5471125 Works well.

Good info to know... I'm going to try the ebay one as well. At 100 dollars less and free shipping... gonna bite the bullet.

I'm sure it's the same as CPP and POL sells (cuz both of them are the same)... just without the stickers on the prop valve.

I received my ebay booster combo kit yesterday. Seller has some poor communication skills and it took me prodding him to finally ship the damn thing. I finally got a tracking number the same day the box showed up on my doorstep. But I have it. Just likeBB72 stated... mine came in a CPP box as well.

Re: Booster from POL any good?

It is a good looking set up. I took the master off and hit it with some aluminum paint so it won't rust.
