1966 C10 Short Box Restoration/Memorial Project
5 Attachment(s)
I picked up a 1966 Chevy C10 Short Box Fleetside pickup a couple weeks ago and I am in the process of tearing it down for restoration. Truck came with the original 327 SBC (running - drove it on the trailer) and 3 speed Saganaw (originally on the tree, but moved to the floor). The truck is in rough shape with some gaping holes in both the driver and passenger floors, cab corners, fenders, and the bed was basically rusted off the frame... but the price was right, CHEAP.
Attachment 995632 Attachment 995662 Attachment 995660 Attachment 995661 I am building this truck as a tribute to my father, who passed away 3 months ago from cancer. He had a 1972 Chevy C10 Long Box Fleetside in Seafoam Green when I was a kid and I always loved that truck. The only other restoration experience I have was working with my father on his 1967 Chevy II Nova. Attachment 995667 I plan to take my time restoring this truck... the first line of business is to repair the floor, relocate the tank to the rear of the truck and do some brake work. I want to get the truck road-worthy before I dump a lot of money into a frame off restoration. I'll check back with more pics of my progress. |

Great goal - A tribute to your dad.
Sorry for your loss. This is great way to keep him alive in your memory. I wish you success with your build. -Robert Posted via Mobile Device |
