1972 c10 rear end swap

thinking about pulling stock rear end from my 1972 c10 short step side and swapping in one from a 1996 impala ss does anyone have any suggestions on this swap or insight about fit?

just did some measuring and the stock rear end in my 72 is 64 inches or 1626mm and the 96 impala ss rear end is 62.9 inches or 1598mm so now comes the issue i have 20 x 10 foose wheels for the rear with 305 35 20 tires. I guess its back to the drawing board on making these clear the rear fender wells.
