Lowering? New to Trucks

I wanna slam my '83 stepper and was wondering exactly what parts are needed on this truck to lower it and how much I should expect to spend in the suspension parts?

Do you want to lower or run air bags?

For bags the shop will do everything, prices vary though. Or you can do the air bags yourself but I don't know what all that all requires in detail.

To just lower it a lot of the guys and gals on here will do a flip kit in the rear, then get drop shocks, for the front lowering springs and drop spindles and drop shocks as well, the most I've seen so far is a 5/7. Now prices I'm not sure you would probably spend close to $500 I would think but I'm not sure.

Hope it helps you out some.

2.5" drop spindles and cut one coil on the front, flip kit and drop shackles in the back. the back will need shorter shocks, the front wont if you do one coil and drop spindles. you will end up with about a 5/7 drop. or you can start with just the drop spindles and a flip kit. depends on how low you want to go

I agree with bk2life on what he said ebay will most likely be your best bet with your budget, there's a gentlemen on the forum here that has a 5 inch drop axle bracket if you interested in that. His name is specialtyretail

here's the link for it if you want to buy one.

I think a spindle, spring and flip kit is the best option. The spindle is what is going to cost some money and put you over the few hundred dollar mark. You can always add them at a later time.

We sell McGaughys, which are good quality components and offer a 2/4 kit that might be in your price range.
