Knocking off inner wheel weights off my 15" wheels with the drop I have any ideas?
Well I love the 15" rallies. I got 15x8s up front and 15x10s in the back.
I only have drop spindles up front and I keep knocking off inner wheels weights. Any suggestions? It looks to be hitting on the lower A arm but I really do not want to grind my A arm down. Thanks! |

Sounds like they are indeed hitting the A-arms. You don't have to grind much off of the lip, and it should go pretty quick.

Wheel weights are overrated.

You may want to try those balancing bead things---that you actually put into the tire.
At first i was skeptical, but most people who use them say that they work great. And these are reliable sources. |

My guess is you are running 3" drop spindles with those 15x8 wheels. Thats a common problem with that combo. You can grind the A-arm lip or go to a narrower wheel.

have you tried useing the stick on type weights moved as close to the center of the wheel as possible???

I'd go with the stick on weights, I tried the balance power stuff in a couple sets of tires and had horible luck with it. Never again, I'll run unbalanced tires before I use that stuff again.

Re: Knocking off inner wheel weights off my 15" wheels with the drop I have any ideas
Well I have the same problem. 2.5 drop spindles and 2" drop springs. Even with 2.5 drop spindles and 15/8's with a 4" BS my inner weights rub off if I turn to sharp. But also my caliper is maybe a 1/4" away from my rim so I would have to go WAY in with the weights if I did that option. So I have started to trim my a-arms but still need to go farther up the a-arm. I cant really see any problem with this as it is a cruiser only, and does not take any real abuse.

Well thanks for the feedback. I just dont like doing any grinding if I dont have to. I'll way all the suggested options.
Thanks again! |
