hi im new and looking for some help
 

Hello all i'm new here and i just bought a 1975 GMC Custom Deluxe C10 1/2 ton with a 250 inline six with the three on the tree now the guy i got it from changed it to floor shifter and it now only get 1st gear and reverse now i want to know how do i get it back to the column shifter any help would be great thanks
ps yes i am going to restore the truck to original

sounds like a linkage is loose or came off the shifter???
to get it back on the column you will need the original linkages from the column to the trans, i would give you mine but mine was converted to the floor before i got it as well!!

got a picture of the shifter?? mine is kinda worn and may be interested in yours if its a hurst???

no i dont have the truck home yet as im trying to figure out the linkage so i can drive it home

if i remember correctly one arm is for reverse and 1st and the other is for 2nd and third??
i can get a picture of my linkages tomorrow for you if that would help??

did you look to see if one was disconnected or hangin loose??

ya then i can get my truck shifting right then i can worry about the column shifter later on thanks
