Re: Gasser 60-66?
A lot of us have interest in this build style, but so far I've never seen a 60-66 done yet.

Re: Gasser 60-66?
here's an interesting thread on the idea of a 60-66 gasser: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=315913 Hardwaa's cool little green truck is gasser-ish, just doesn't have a nosebleed like most tend to associate with a gasser. But I too have never seen a 60-66 straight axle truck... Thread discusses them (gassers in general) a good bit, but no 60-66's were posted. I realize this doesn't help, but it's somethin!

someday I have a 66 that I hope to build like a gasser, or F/X truck.
only pic I have of a straight axle 60-66 is this model: If I ever do that 66 F/X it would look like this dodge.... a 47-54 front axle setup might be a good candidate for the swap. |
Re: Gasser 60-66?
I was kinda hoping someone one here would build a Gasser.
I wouldn't mind building a 60-63 Stepside Gasser myself. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1259726725 Check out this thread: Future gasser '57 chevy http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=373616 Gasser Wars Magazine http://www.gasserwarsmagazine.com/ Gasser Magazine http://www.gassermagazine.com/ |

Re: Gasser 60-66?
These are the closest I’ve seen, including 2 earlier year Chevys. The only 60-66 is a photoshop effort: My truck was headed this direction until medical retirement cancelled the budget:

Re: Gasser 60-66?
Gassers ROCK! I have a '49 International Harvester KB-2 that I am very seriously considering applying the gasser treatment to...

Re: Gasser 60-66?
I believe we would have seen more gassers trucks had GM not changed to torque bar and coils in sixty, same with ford when they changed to twin I beam in 65, It was just easier to grab something already done just change the springs.

Re: Gasser 60-66?
Yep, Ford and Dodge didn't move to IFS until later in the 60's. It made it much easier to build a gasser when it's already a straight axle/leaf springs.
It would be great to see someone actually build one. :) |

That looks like Tommy Chong in the drivers seat drinking a Budweiser.
I love those old G Vans. |
