Rear shock crossmember
 

Does anyone know of a replacement rear crossmember that mounts above the rear axle? It's used to mount the rear shocks too. I would like to replace the factory crossmember.

I would sugesst putting the No Limit shock relocation kit on your truck. the ride and handling is improved quite a bit. Are you wanting to replace the crossmember because it's bad?

Yep, Porterbuilt does make a bolt in crossmember for the shock mounts, but it must be used with the lower as well due to the shock placement of the upper crossmember. Usually the upper crossmember bolts into their c-notch that has integrated tabs. This can be used with another manufacturer's c-notch but will need brackets to bolt to the frame. The lower will bolt between the trailing arms using supplied brackets that bolt in between the axle and trailing arm.

The setup mentioned with both shock mounting (upper and lower) would be $275. You can add an adjustable trac bar to this for an extra $120, since it will use the same bracket that comes off the trailing arm. Just have to purchase together, so they put the track bar tab on the one trailing arm mount. Or you can buy with the tab for the trac bar, if you plan to run the Porterbuilt adjustable at a later time.

I kind of wish that the crossmember was broke 65Gregg. I was having issues getting the shock to about a 15 degree angle. Trying to use the stock bolt hole in the uper crossmember for the shock relocation kit was not ligning up with the lower mount. The shock was at a much greater angle than I liked. It seemed like the shock was bending because it was at such a hard angle. So what I ended up doing was drilling four new holes for the upper backets to get the shock more straight.

As others have stated, there are several vendors here that came make a rear crossmember for you.
