New to old trucks

I just purchased a 1987 chevy V20 4x4 and i was wondering how to tell what kind of transmission it has? I believe it is a 350t because it is a three speed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Phil

I would bet its a TH400 being a 3spd 20series.

Especially in 87. They quit using the TH350 some time in the early 80's IIRC. Look at your gas pedal bracket; is there an electrical switch with two wires coming off of it, one pink and one orange? If so, that is the kickdown switch for a TH400. That is the factory setup.
