What CAI with Dropmember?
 

Guys running LS/5.3 swaps, what CAI are you using? Need something like the pic below? I have limited clearance since I'm running Nate's Dropmember, any one have any luck with CAI and DM in a Squarebody?

whats in the pic really isn't a cold air intake fwiw, but I digress.

You gotta grab a cold air inake from a 20xx Silverado off of ebay, the 2 piece design (you'll see plenty of them, they are all pretty much the same). That intake in the picture (and similar) are made from using 1/2 of the CAI kit , cutting it a bit short and flipping some around.

I did a similar setup on mine, you toss out the metal air box, straight peice of tube, and the extra clamp, and cut the remaining tube (with the 30* bend) down to length, then use the couplers to fit it on. There are a couple ways to do it, depending on your exact fitment, but it should work fine.

Ok, was thinking that was what this guy did. Does it matter on the filter type? I see some that offer the K&N filter...

AIRAID sells a DIY kit that you can build your own sysstem with tons of angles. It is made of ABS material, but is pretty cool! I have one, just need to figure out how I want to run it...

yea, I liked it too, just soooo many options to run, I can't decide. I originally bought the one like your picture, but ended up getting the AIRAID too.

Did you go with the 4inch tubes? They look big in the pic?

What made you change from the ebay set up to the Airaid set up? Clearance in the engine bay?

I did not like the look of the short one, but have to figure out how I want the airaid to run.
