is it just me?....or has asking price for NOS parts gone thru the roof?

Ya it's getting stupid..I can only imagine what that member on here would have got for that interior fold down cargo light on Ebay that was in the for sale section.

New Old Stock-its new, original parts that have been ona shelf for years usually.

nos is (new old stock) that is still new never used usually in the original gm package.

u think truck nos parts are bad look at some 67-69 camaro stuff or 66-72 chevelle crap wow!!!!! i saw a gm nos pvc valve for a 67 vette sell for 3000 had to ask the buyer why when u can get one at autozone for 2 bucks?? he said the originals are a hazey purple color and that matters in judging a rare corvette????

Here's how I look at that....If someones willing to pay that for something. I guess that's their buisness. Nobody held a gun to their head. Notice nobody bid on the band, He's just hoping somebody with an unlimited budget comes along and hit's buy it now. I gotta admit it is kinda interesting to watch.

To me the sad part is that I have bought all this stuff when GM was making it. I took it for granted and just bought new cause I could and they were cheap. Heck I've replaced fenders like underwear they were so cheap. $62.00 with tax. Now I am buying the stuff again for the 3rd time and it's killing me cause I knew what I paid for it before and still have the receipts!! Fortunately I know the parts guys really well and still get factory stuff that's been obsolete for years. My dirty little secret.

Not that bad for NOS prices really considering what I've paid in recent years for NOS parts on some of our classic cars.
To look at it in that scenario makes the prices easier to swallow. What bothers me though is that we are talking about pickup trucks :lol: I've never viewed our trucks as collectable by any means and certainly don't think NOS parts for a truck demands those kind of prices. |
