radiator choice

i am putting a 350hp 400 ft lbs torque chevy 350 in my 51 and want to use the original radiator support. i am going with a aluminum aftermarket radiator but not sure if i should go 3 or 4 row. does anyone have a suggestion because i dont want to go small or have overheat issues.

Re: radiator choice

Just got a 3 row from champion .Bolts in and looks good . They claim it will cool up to 650 hp and its a three row . My only problem is that it is a little thicker , and I am probobly going with the electric fan just for clearence sake- my mechanical fan is really close- as in less than half an inch.
But for less than 200$ its nice.I figure the 4 row would be equally as nice-

Re: radiator choice

A possibly bigger consideration for aluminum radiators is the size of the tubes in the core and not the number of cores since long thin tube ability is the only advantage aluminum has over copper. Most 3 core aluminum rads use 3/4 in. tubes. IMO, for cooling efficiency, you are better served with 2 rows of one in. tubes, but those radiators usually cost more. There are companies out there that make two rows of 1 1/4 tubes in their HD radiators. Only two cores but very long thin tubes for lots of surface area.
