create image hosting account (photobucket or similar hosting site) and upload your images.

Find the picture you want to upload and copy the IMG link.

Come back here, and in the Quick Reply, PASTE the IMG link here...the image will show up in the thread.

Click REPLY on a thread and it will load the little reply "box"

And be sure to hit ENTER between pics so they're all on a new line or it'll run way off the side and look awful :)

Photobucket is good, so is imageshack, I use Windypix.com, some others use their Kodak accounts.

You can also do it without a hosting site. I keep all my pics on my PC. You can click "Go Advanced", scroll down to "Manage Attachments" and Browse. Click on the pics you want...upload.

This option does work, but like not pressing ENTER between the pics it breaks the forum tables and pics end up scrolling off to the right indefinitely. I *believe* there's a patch for this version of our forum but we don't seem to have it installed.

The 67-72chevytruck.com forum is quite large. The list of forums is quite huge. However, many of those forums, have sub-forums! So, it will be worth your while to explore them all and get a feel for the place. Sometimes this place is like an old parts warehouse or book store. Lots of nooks and crannies... where good information is lying around.

----

Be sure to explore the Regional forums, to see what is going on in the area near you. Most States have their own forums, those that do not, had no activity and were removed. If you are in one of those States and would like to see it returned, go here to discuss it: Site Feedback and Announcements

This thread is an index of useful threads in the 60-66 Message Board, here on the forum.

60-66 FAQ Index thread

----

An area here on the board where folks review quality of parts and customer service of board sellers, eBay action and parts vendors, as well as attempt to resolve any conflicts or miscommunication:

Review Board

This is a very good place to research vendors BEFORE placing an order.

----

If you want to buy/sell parts, you must be a supporting member to place 'for sale' or 'want to buy' ads.

The reason for the requirement as a supporting member to buy/sell on the board is because many years back there were a lot of scammers on this site causing problems by taking money and not sending parts. The fella that founded the site, Josh(guy who wrote the article linked below) got tired of dealing with the hassles. He then started the 'only supporting members' can sell stuff and the site related "bad deal" issues he had to contend with dropped to 1 or 2 a month. The crooks and jerks were too cheap to pay up, so they left.

It is only 25 bucks for a full 12 months from whenever you sign up. Then you can place for sale ads, want to buy ads(wtb) etc.. It is more if you are buying & selling parts often, like a business.

details about the supporting members

If you wish to buy and sell parts on the board, go here:

paid subscriptions

In my experience, it is worth it, if you are really looking for some parts!

Enjoy,

Did the 1964 trucks come with hood ornaments & spotlights? I just got one with both & was wondering if they are factory.

For pics just use the photo gallery here on the board. Upload them here and be done with it.

They were both factory authorized accessories, but I doubt they would have been available on the production line. More likely they were dealer installed options. Unity brand spotlights were offered by GM. Appleton spotlights were not.

To the best of my knowledge the hood bird was a GMC only accessory, but many ended up on Chevrolets.

Do the turn signal lights in the hood on a 64 also act as parking lights?

If they do my bulbs are shot or I have an issue.

Re: "The 1960 - 1966 New Member Q & A Thread"

I have a 66 c10 that I am pretty sure has a bad bearing in it because I can definitely hear a clunking noise that shouldn't be there on the bottom end. Is there anyway that I can identify if I have the large or short journals without pulling the motor. I am going to pull it to rebuild what i need to but because of my work schedule it hasn't happened as fast as I have wanted to and would love to have my rebuild kit ordered by the time I pull it if possible. Right now the only way I know of is to measure the rod journals with a micrometer but was hoping there was a quicker way. Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

didn't the big trucks have this? I think they were used with trucks with a governor, and a 2/speed axle? drove a chevy 60 or 80 truck many yrs ago that had the light.

Hope this is the right spot for newbies .. Been lurking for awhile on here , been into Chevy trucks for bout 35 + yrs . Currently own. '37 Chevy pickup , street rod . '70 short step '82 long fleet . An bought a '64 long fleet about 15-18 years ago an been in dry storage till now . Time to get it done . Have question on running gear , currently 292 3 speed . Have '83 spindles an brake parts for disc up front . '76 power steering box linkage . Have a '85 rear with 2:73 gear set . I can mount '85 rear into. '64 easy enough , question is how would 2:73 gears be with the 3 speed manual trans. Won't be pulling or husk long any loads . Was thinking first gear may be a lil slow going . Your thought ?

I think so. I have two cluster asm., one with a factory tac. One off my 62 k20 and the other off a c20 i pulled from a truck at my friends junkyard. Didnt have a light hooked up to either one. All the other 60-63 trucks I find only have idiot lights. I guess full gauges in these trucks are rare? I just baught a decal kit to restore one for my truck. The tac. seams to work. I hooked it up to a 1.5 dry cell battery and the needle on the tac jumps. Am I going to have to use a transmitter on this tac? The c20 donner was scrapped shorty after I managed to get some good parts off it.

Here is a newbie question for you . . .

I see trucks listed as BBC or BBW . .. what do those abbreviations mean in a truck context?
