5 Speed Manual ???
 

I'm building a 65 C10 and have an opportunity to pick up a 5 speed out of a 2000 4x2 silverado. Does anyone have info on what model this transmission may be?

NV3500 in a 1500. (4.3/4.8 only)
NV4500 in a 2500.

Thanks for quick reply, guy says the tranny is behind a 5.7 in a 1500? Supposed to go look next weekend, is there a tag on the tranny to identify it?

5.7L wasnt available in a 1500 truck for 2000.

Thanks, one more question, does the 4.8 use same bolt pattern as 5.7

Yes, But the crank spacing is different, But I think that was taken care of with the pilot bearing.

Actually, there were a lot of C/K GMT400’s build well into 2000 with 5.7L engines although they were 2500 and 3500 models. The last of the C/K GMT400 1500 series truck production was consolidated from Pontiac East Assembly, Ft. Wayne Assembly to Arlington, TX for the final run of US Spec GMT400s in 1999 model year. They were marketed as “Classic”. In fact, the Flint built GMT400 3500-HD went all the way into 2004 model year where it was available with 5.7L, 6.5L and 8.1L engines. Salio, Mexico continued on for a while longer with the GMT400s after the Arlington production stopped.

If this is a 2000 model year GMT800 1500 Silverado with a 4.8L or even some unicorn or Mexican GMT400 C1500 with a 5.7L it would be the same transmission being a NV3500. If the donor truck turns out to actually be a GMT400 C2500 with a 5.7L it will be a NV4500. With your ’65 being a 2wd, I would suggest the NV3500 as it is a nice driver transmission for 2wd rigs.

A friend of mine at work has a 3500HD, the old body style and it has a Duramax and it is factory. I know it is hard to believe, but it is true.

Whats the 8th VIN digit of said truck.....The GMT-400 3500HD ran 'till '02....Even had the 8.1L option, But No Dice on the 6.6 LB7 Duramax, 6.5L IDI ONLY.
