That's a great score

Looks to be in not to bad of shape. What are your plans for it?

So that is a short step? I didn't know GM ever made a 3/4 ton short wheelbase.

Me either, maybe a napco conversion? It's coming in tomorrow night. I had a friend of mine look at it, Just to make sure # match. I'll look at it in more detail over the weekend.

Is the bed extra short, like a special purpose truck? Kinda looks like it in the pics. I did not think any regular 3/4 tons were SWB. Interesting find.

X2.....I also thought ALL the 3/4 tons were long wheelbase. It would be interesting to see if the frame vin matches the cab vin.......maybe the frame's been changed? Or shortened? On my 63, the frame vin is only the 6th digit forward (the build plant letter). The first 5 digits are not there, but the rest of the number matches the cab #, so I'm sure they came together.

That's a very cool truck, either way. 4x4's are my favorite.

As for the NAPCO possibility, from what I understand, seems way too late for that. Given the K25 vin, whatever that vin came on, was obviously factory 4x4, and 3/4 ton. .

im gonna say it was a 1/2 ton, then someone put 3/4 ton axles on it. definetly the vin will say

perro13 11-14-2012 10:09 PM

Re: "Scored"60 Chevy 3/4 4x4 SB

Vin reads 3/4 4x4.

Nice find. I think it's possible it is factory. I don't know for sure bout 3/4t shortbeds as far as when they were last made. But,when I lived in CA my friend had a 2wd Chevy in the Task Force years that was a shortbed 3/4t. It had 15" 8-lug split rims. It was definitely factory. Then, back in the '80s I knew a guy with a 65 or 66 short panel 4wd with 8-lug axles.I've been into 4wds forever and checked it out. It wasn't newer running gear. He was a mechanic. Neither of us knew anything about what was factory or not back then, but we both thought it was factory. There were also still Napco conversions well past these years, just not too common and usually a 1t or heavier. I had a '71 C/30 SRW cab & chassis Napco conversion.
