Rochestor 1bbl accelerator pump not working
 

I rebuilt my carb and the accelerator pump isn't working - Any ideas what could be wrong??

Did you replace it with the one in the kit? Check the two pumps out very carefully. There were quite a few differant variants for different years. I have found them in different lengths also.

With the top off the carb and some gas in the bowl you should be able to work the pump up and down by hand and see if its pushing fuel. Did you get a kit that came with a new pump? Make sure all the little parts are in the right places, and passages are clear. Like you, I took my carb apart and cleaned it several times before discovering the one tiny hardened plug of crud right at the opening where the fuel squirts into the throat.

I"m going to break it down tonight - I'm pretty sure one of the passages is pugged - I'll post my results.

found the problem - the accelerator pump discharge passage was plugged - all is good - except now my brake lights aren't working??
