Under 13 sec?
What does it take to make a 3700lb truck do under 13 sec in the 1/4 mile? This is what I'm going to try it with

Re: Under 13 sec?
If it helps, when first out mine weighed 3900lbs, made 360ish rwhp unlocked conveter (similar to a th400) and the biggest issue was verter was way too tight, let alone gearing etc. It went 12.3x @ 109mph with a soft 1.89 60'
I think with an optimized combo, you could probably go high 12's with 300rwhp and 3,700lbs, but it would have to be really well set up. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Under 13 sec?
Im hoping I have 330 to 350 rwhp and the weight is reduced up front by 100lbs.

Re: Under 13 sec?
Agreed, traction is the key and gearing. I was doing 12.40's in Tucson, 12.teens at Firebird with 3650 pounds and probably barely over a honest 425(crank) HP 383
But it has steamroller tires 33x17-15 DOT slicks and 5.43 gears, with a 4800 Midwest convertor. I was crossing at 6400-6600 at only 107-109MPH |
Re: Under 13 sec?
Im looking at 365 at sea level 90o/o and 87 degrees for 12.90 @ 3700

Re: Under 13 sec?
Have a buddy that runs a stock suspension and drag radials w/355 with performer rpm set up runs low 13's and needs a converter bad.
