NEW brake lines ??? lookng for a good source.
finally starting to work on my ole 68. I need new brake lines, It really isn't cost effective to buy supplies and make my own. So hoping to get some experiences from some who have bought kits for their trucks. from where and how much they were. I've heard tale of inline tubing but the reviews online aren't that great. so advice and opinions please.
My truck is a 68 frame, 71 discs and rearend. |
Re: NEW brake lines ??? lookng for a good source.
I have Inline Tube brake lines. They are a great fit with very minimal bending to get them in. Just remember that no brake line kit is going to install without a little bending and massaging. You could probably go with any of the reputable suppliers and they will work great.

I used Inline Tube, complete set of brake lines, fuel lines, parking brake cable kit. As Gary said, some bending is needed. Overall the quality and fit are great. No regrets.

I can only chime in about Inline Tube. I bought a complete set of brake lines for my sister's 74 Firebird and they fit like crap. Never used them on one of our trucks though.

The Right Stuff (www.getdiscbrakes.com). I bought some lines 12 years ago and finally installed them last year. I had a couple problems. They replaced a line or two and even custom bent some for no charge... after 12 years! Super service and everything worked out great.

Alright now thats what I was after. Sjarrett, thats the majority of what the reviews say about in line tube. My idea is, if I have to re do lines to get them to fit I should have just made my own. I understand some my need tweeked.

The main area I had to "bend" the lines was right where the fittings connected. Basically just a little tweak here and there to get the threads started. :)

Re: NEW brake lines ??? lookng for a good source.
I used inline tube on my rear end brake lines and the quality was great, yes a lil massaging to get them in but that's expected. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
