Tire rotation
 

What do you guy's do about rotating your tires when you have 8.5" up front and 10" out back?

Can you swap the fronts from side to side? Just wondering. I have the fronts off draining the brake fluid to install the new S/S flex lines.
Was just thinking about them since there off.;):chevy:

Some would say that you should not just move them side to side. Think of rubbing your skin one way then the other over and over. It will create a blister. That said. I worked for a major tire retailer here in the northwest and handled lots of adjustment issues with suppliers. Never was an issue. The benefit if rotating front to back is you may delay tires wearing out due to the inherent geometry of the steering.
My .02 worth is it won't hurt but it won't help. Clear as mud?

Any tire manufactured after 1984 that is not directional by design (look for rotation arrow to determine if directional) can be rotated in any fashion including side to side.

Yup, go ahead and rotate them side-to-side. My tires are all the same size so I always do a full 4-tire rotation, which involves switching sides (rear tires forward, fronts cross to the opposite side rear). Never had any problems at all.

Unless they are directional tires you can cross rotate the tires. From what I have seen it tends to even up wear but overall tire life is pretty much the same if the alignment and the suspension is stock. Lowered trucks might do better in some cases.

Yes I had always been told not to do side to side. I guess I need to see if they are directional. I think they are though. I'll go look and see. Thanks!;)
