McGaughys Spindle problem

I have read many people comment about having to grind the lower control arm when using drop spindles and 15x8 ralley wheels but has anyone had to grind the spindle itself. The spindles are rubbing on the inside lip. I am planning on ordering new Wheel Vintique ralley wheels so can i just change the offset? Thanks

Maybe my stock 8s are a different backspace?

The wheels or the spindle? Either way I'll take some tomorrow. I'll measure the backspace too.

I do know that some spindles specify that X size wheels need to be ran or will have the problem your describing.

I have 2.5in McGaughys drop spindles with 15x6.5 van rally wheels, they have 4.25in backspace wich is the same as stock 15x8 rallys. I had to grind a little off the leading lower edge of the lower control arms to solve the rubbing issue.

On my bell tech 3"spindle with a 2" spring if you jack the truck up the spindle hits the dish on my 15x8 rally's but when you set the truck down on the ground the spindle doesn't hit and never hits while driving plenty of clearance.Hope this helps I know they are different brands.

I do have 2" drop coil also and have not even checked with it on the ground. Currently it's just a rolling chassis so I might have to wait until I put at least the drivetrain back in to verify. Thanks for the info though that is great knowledge

What part of the spindle is rubbing? On mine the spindle is very close to the wheel lip where the tie rod connects, it actually knocked my wheel weights off.

I'm having the same problem. Anything that can be done with out grinding. I want to replace the wheels in the future when the funds permit.
