project lay frame

Hello everyone i figured id start a build thread so i can get ideas about were i want my build to go little about me and my truck im 29 years old went to school for diesel mechanics and chassis fabrication, with that said this isnt my first project but my first restoration of any sort. so i picked up a 71 chevy long bed about 2 months ago, wiring was shot, holes in the floor boards, no out side rust, decent truck so i picked up which was a steal at 500 bucks, its got a strong running 350 and 3 on the tree, so were im at now half the lights didnt work so i picked up a painless harness from the same guy 200 bucks spent about 2 weeks doin that now thats good sold one of my project rigs 2000 bmw to fund the suspension i have completed the front and starting on the rear of the truck now 4 link and step notch i will take pictures tonight and post them up i hope this project will help more then just me im very inspired by some of the builds on here and dont think my workmanship will match most but none the less itll be cool when its done and looking forward to getting to know most of u.

Re: project lay frame

Much better. Do you have to re-use all your old connectors with that set up, did you buy new?

Frettsy 12-11-2012 04:47 PM

Re: project lay frame

old connectors as far as the harness the interior came with all new ones complete plug and play, minus the steering column u had to de pin the old harness and install plug on new one, the head lights came with all new plugs, the only thing i reused was the light sockets for now till i can figure out what direction im going with them.. But they all work now and the truck is street legal
