Hidden hitch
Does anyone make a tow hitch that is low profile and is hidden behind the license plate box for the square c10s? I'm goint to run a sport bumper and dont want it to stick out

Re: Hidden hitch
I don't know of a marketed/direct fit for 73-87's but there are options that work...

Re: Hidden hitch
I have the hidden hitch here for my 72, but I never bothered to see how it might work on my 79 (it already has a hitch). I'm sure it would take some fab work though.
I couldn't hide one on the 79 anyway as it has the spare tire crank and lock already behind the license plate so there is no room for a hitch up there, so I just never looked at this as an option. Interesting though. |

Re: Hidden hitch
I bet it would. Depending on the position you may have to use a longer receiver. Thanks for the info!

Re: Hidden hitch
$250?? Seems about right. That's in the ballpark of what I paid for a class IV hitch.
However my only complaint would be the 5,000 lbs. tow rating they give it,,,that's pretty damn weak. I hope they are talking about tongue weight  Otherwise that's a useless hitch in my opinion. |
Re: Hidden hitch
That's what I mean...that receiver is only a Class 3. Regular class 3's go for less than half that all day, everyday.
Personally, I don't mind having a receiver hanging under the bumper. It’s not like the old days when they were big ol nasty hunks of steel hanging out there. Most of the newer models are relatively low profile. |
Re: Hidden hitch
I like my big ole nasty hunk of steel,,,, Big old square tube class IV sucker, I feel sorry for anyone that runs into the back of my truck
You should see it with the load distribution hitch sticking out of it  Some of the more recent stuff in the last few years however I see is made out of round tube and while may be more appealing to some, doesn't really matter to me, my truck is just a truck ;) |
