Upgrades for my 1965

I bought my one owner almost rust free 1965 bbw, factory air, lwb, 283 two years ago. as of this time I have upgraded it a lot...each upgrade made my truck so much better...so far I have:

(1) front disk brakes, rebuilt suspension
(2) dropped spindels..2 inch dropped springs in front...5 inch dropped in rear
(3) 5 bolt wheels....72 front wheels..72 camper wheels for the back(wider)
(4) front sway bar
(5) power steering
(6) Vintage air Gen IV
(7) s10 5 speed. with orginal gearing in rear end
(8) 1972 rear bumper with flip down license plate....hidden hitch soon
(9) 1990 chevy truck 60/40 seat
(10) GM 350 crate motor, 1406 edlebrock , HEI dist
(11) Camero steering wheel
(12) head light relays....plus other wiring up grades (madelectrical)
(13) 95 amp alternator
(14) paint exterior and interior, new tinted glass, all rubber
(15) working on 1972 C10 cable pull gas pedal

this truck drives like a new one...I'm getting 22 mpg on highway ...I'm not happy with the rear shocks with lowered rear...I'm also wanting cruise control....Untill I typed all this down I didnt realise how much I have done....this board has helped so much....thanks..Bill

that's quite the list! I am particularly interested in the 5 speed swap and the drop spindles and springs combo. I am using 3" springs in the front and the camber is off so I was thinking of using drop spindles and springs. Any advice? How was your alignment? Any before/after or just after pics of the drop?

thanks.

To get more camber adjustment, you can remove upper a-arm and grind/cut off the ears that interfere with the frame--gives more than enough camber adjustment.

Do you have the rear shock re locator brackets? I hear they make a ton of difference.

Switch to the NoLimit shock relocation kit. It moves the shocks outside the frame rails. Next time you're in the Conroe or Willis area let me know and you can ride in mine. 832-368-7326
