any suggestions on what to use i would like to do floor and inside of doors

I used this in my 57 Nomad and so far its holding up quite well. It was around $10 for 4"x33' roll. took two rolls to do my car. I'd imagine one roll could do a truck.

I found it at Lowe's or Home Depot. Both stores carry it...

I put it in at the beginning of the summer. Long tube headers and no A/C. brought the interior temps and noise from the exhaust down..

Thanks man, Is that all u used or did you use the sound felt also? I am going out tomorrow and getting a roll. You said one roll will do a single cab all the way behind the gas tank?

The rolls are 33 feet long so it should, I did a my Nomad with two rolls. It's cheap so incase you waste some of it I would buy two rolls, The carpet I used had the jute attached to it...

Cut it into manageable pieces and be ready for it to stick when it lays down. It is very sticky...

I'll second the Tite Seal or Peel and Seal stuff from Lowes or Home Depot. I've used it in doors a few times and it makes a lot of difference.

Just make sure you use a seam tape with peel and seal. When I did mine, it got hot before I covered it and I got black crap on some of my stuff. I seam taped everything and it's perfect now.

I used 2 types from Home Depot on my truck,

1. 6-8" wide butyl rubber with aluminum covering (very much like Dynamat) this takes the boom boom out of the large floor paniels ) but I could not find it yesterday at home depot....will go online and lookkk...again

2. the other product was at home depot called frigi king and it was very similar it was a closed cell gray insulation with adhesive on the bottom and aluminum on the top, they still have that.....

I put the butyl rubber down first then the insulation on top of that...my truck is quiet as a church mouse........will look for the numbers......Kieth

I also used the seam tape....cost of each product was about $ 1.25 per sq ft..

I too, use the lowes peel and seal, no smell with it either. However I laid it in the colder months, so I used a torch lightly to heat it and used a small wooden roller to press it down. It is stuck down now! Haha
As for inside the doors, (google micro balloons) I bought that and mixed it with white latex paint (1 quart did both doors), pour half the paint into a container with a good lid. Mix in about the same amount of micro balloons and stir it up. Then paint the empty insides of your doors! Be careful to leave your drip holes open!
It's cheap and works great to deaden the hollow sounding doors!

It was where the floor meets the kick panel on mine. I had my newly upholstered kick panel sitting in place on the bare seam. It wasn't a huge issue, but I ended up seam taping the whole deal just to be safe.

I have a foam mat between the peal and seal and carpet, so it wouldn't ever hit the carpet, but it looks a lot cleaner seamed up, too. Not that anyone sees it under the carpet :lol:

I bought two rolls today. One only did 1 1/2 of the floor. Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow and I will post a pic.

Are you saying this is a good replacement for Dynomat?
The price difference is staggering. :ack:

Anyone have a source for a similar product in Canada, post it up. I searched every building supply and HVAC and roofing supply company here, and no luck.

Closest I found at Home Depot was Blueskin membrane, but no foil on that.

I have both products, the Lowes peel n seal is thicker. I did my whole cab, it was great, effective and inexpensive.

Its been in my Nomad with long headers for the whole summer with no issues. No smell, problems at all...

I'm repairing the floor in my 66 and will putting this product down on the floor of it prior to carpet.

Its been good stuff so far...

I used similar stuff in a slightly larger role. Its about half as thick as dynomat, and the one I used did not have the reflective coating, but I didn't mind because I chose to run an automotive insulator on top of it. It give the firewall and floor a very thick/solid feel.
