Waxing chrome to protect it in winter bad? Opinions needed
Alright I just put a VERY thick coating of wax on my 1966 C10 to protect it from the salt eating away at it and some say waxing it is bad. but other say in all their years of waxing chrome it has never done a darn thing? my dad told me to put a nice coating of wax and NOT buff it off all winter to keep a layer of protection.
what's your opinion? |

WD-40;)
WD-40 is a miracle worker on cars and trucks, and can help make caring for your vehicle a breeze. Use it to keep your chrome polished and protected. http://wd40.com/automotive/ http://wd40.com/news/in-the-news/car...h-wd-40andreg/ |

I agree on the WD40. It will displace moisture and should protect the chrome better than most products out there.

There's nothing wrong with waxing chrome to protect it. It won't harm the chrome at all. It's not too attractive, though.
WD-40 will work, but you'll need to keep it applied throughout the winter. |
