88-94 Rear Ext. Speakers

Hello, lately i have been thinking about replacing the rear speakers in my 1994 chevy extended cab truck (Above the back seat). If you are familiar with the rear interior panels on the 88-94 extended cab chevys, you know how much it sucks to take them out. I am wanting some opinions on what to do with them. I have heard of people taking the 4x6s out and putting 6x9s in there, but i dont really want to have to modify it. I could also put aftermarket 4x6s in the stock speakers place. If you have any input or pictures that would be great. Btw, i just installed a brand new head unit, front speakers, amp, and put subs under the back seat.

Thanks, Trenton :chevy:

Trenton, These days, when it comes to speakers, bigger isn't always better. Stick with the same size, you'll be glad you did. As far as which brand of speakers, check what is available from the same manufacturer as your amp. If not then check the output ohms and look to another brand that matches.
Good Luck, Mark:chevy:

your best bet is to stick with 4X6's when you add subs to these trucks, typically the bass overpowers the treble, creating terrible sound quality. stick with 4X6 and I recommend Alpine. (but i'm biased)
