Mucho pictures of my 1980 stepside

Had some time today, so I took the truck over to a nearby parking lot and took a bunch of pictures.

Here is a link to a web page where I put them all...

Here are some teasers...

These are basically the "before" pictures... GMPP crate 350 HO/330 horsepower and 700R4 is about to go in, along with a Vintage Air system... I will take "after" pictures once it is done...

I love it too - but I'm biased!

My first truck (and first new vehicle ever) was an 80 stepside; in that same blue, 6 cylinder, three on the tree.

At your leisure, could you tell me what the "official" name of that color is, and paint code? I do not recall.

The truck was originally "Light Blue Metallic", but was painted a slightly darker color at some point. This is the best shot I have of the original paint color...

Very cool survivor!
I think this would be called a plane jane, right?
Very good base for small weekend projects or a full on restauration, or a restomod project!
What are your plans?

The planest jane there is. One option, heavy duty rear springs...

Plan is this...

GMPP 350 HO crate motor
700r4 transmission
Vintage Air
Replace peg leg 2.73 with 3.42 and posi
Dynamat the interior, along with some insulation for heat
New carpet, recover the seat, maybe a headliner so I can insulate the roof
Upgrade stereo
Still undecided on tires and wheels, but leaning towards 15x8 rallys.
Resist the urge to paint it, or replace wood in bed
Use as daily driver...

i would do everything you said except i would leave the stock wheels on it too, i would leave it as stock looking as possible, what kind of mileage does it get with the six? if your looking for mileage why not maybe a 4.8/4l60 setup?
