tranny cooler line leaking?

Yesterday my transmission cooler line started leaking where it screws into the radiator. It is the pressure in line. The pressure out line is fine. The line is completly tight with no movment, cracks or breaks. Should I try some thread sealer or what?

I assume you mean it's leaking tranny fluid, not coolant. If it's tight and leaking, there's definitely something wrong. Since it's a flare fitting it doesn't seal at the threads, and thread sealer would be nothing more than a baling wire and duct tape approach. You need to find the problem and fix it.

If it's leaking coolant, you will need to remove the radiator and re-solder the fitting.

yes it is tranny fluid leaking. I know the line pressure gets pretty high somtimes [200+lbs] but thats how its supposed to be with this 2004R.

Tom, does it look like it leaking through the threads?
If so use some silicone sealer.
Or does it look like its leaking where the line meets the fitting?
Do you have steel line or rubber with clamp?

Are you using the radiator, the cooler, or both?
If both, which is leaking?

The cooler (stand alone) has fittings that screw in then have a rubber hose that clamps on right?

Eddie,

Its the stock metal flared tubing with screw fitting. Its the fitting that goes into the radiator. I have the external cooler after the radiator. I cant see where its coming from. It always drips onto the driveway when Im not looking [seriously]
