info on wilwood 260-11179 please
I am going to install the wilwood 260-11179 on my truck to replace the current prop valve. I have found alot of info that several people install this on there 67-72's. I have some questions I didnt find answers on...
1. Can someone chime if any adapter fittings are needed? Or can I just gently bend my stock lines and make it work? Parts stores here dont carry jack and any adapter fittings I need to order with it. 2. Wouldnt mind a picture or two, didnt see any. 3. I see this is 2 lines in, 3 lines out. Can I just plug one of the outs? Or do I need to run both fronts separately? If I can plug it, what fitting is needed? |

Here is mine. I bent my own Stainless Steel lines. The mounting bracket I bought from Summit Racing. Yes, you can plug one of the front ports.

Re: info on wilwood 260-11179 please
Glad to help. I forgot to mention that the ports are 3/8-24. Your original lines won't fit unless you get adapters. I know that O'Reilys or Napa have the correct adapters.
I bought a SS 3/16" line kit that came with the correct 3/8-24 inverted flare nuts. Bending and flaring the SS was really tough, so you may want to go with regular steel lines. Most shops will have pre-flared 3/16 steel lines in select lengths. It just comes down to how clean you want the install to look. |
Re: info on wilwood 260-11179 please
Stores here dont carry jack crap. Plus unless they can look it up in the pc, most have no clue what your talking about.
I didnt even find the adapters on summits site. I thought 2 of them were 3/8-24 fittings. Then a few 7/16, and (1) 1/2?? |

Yeah, I know what you mean about clueless parts stores.
Look at this page under adapters to figure what you need and then see if you can find them by part number online. I think you want the tube adapters. http://www.dormanproducts.com/catalo...Sec7_Part2.pdf |
Re: info on wilwood 260-11179 please
I know this is an old thread....but, did anyone ever find and adapter that fits the the rear brakes and Willwood output?
I've looked high and low for a 9/16-18 female to 3/8-24 male fitting, doesn't seem to exist. I've found a 7/16-18 female to 3/8-24 male fitting I'm thinking about just putting a new 7/16 fitting on the 1/4" brake line. |
