first post and got cuple questionsgot questions
:hi2:My father bought this 63 c10 long bed fleetside when i as 8 bc he loved the look as do i. he then bought a 83 silverado with a monster 305 on 33s, he then said the 63 would be my first car, well im 18 and its done nothing but sit with no motor. I've finally got tools time and a lil money to start the build i keep debating between street rod look or lifting it, but its a 2 wheel drive and i have no idea what 4x4 frame would fit under it without getting rid of that beutifull long bed.if any 1 knows please sare becouse ive never seen a 4x4 63 long bed. ive found all the parts i want or need minus a chrome grill any1 know where to get 1? ik this is a lil rambly, but its my first post :new::fb:

Welcome!
IF I'm reading this, I'm thinking the 83 Silverado is a SWB truck and the 63 is a LWB? That would be a tough frame swap. You could possible find a SWB 63 bed and make the swap work but that's a still BIG project. Does the 63 have a transmission? The 305 would be a pretty easy fit in the 63 if the trans is there. Do a search, plenty have put V8's in these old trucks. Lots of info here... |

Welcome to the forum :D
It will be much easier to just put the 4x4 running gear under your original '63 frame. There is a thread on here titled "SixfoSuburban" by Jonzcustomshop, where he is doing just that. Keeping it 2wd is also easily upgraded to PS and power disc brakes. It's just a matter of whether you want a 2wd or a 4x4. |

Re: first post and got cuple questionsgot questions
id start off on puttin a motor in it and getting the truck driving before dreaming about 4x4, lifts, big tires, all that jazz you probbaly dont have money for. not being a jerk, being realistic, get a motor/trans and get the truck running and driving. a 2wd cleaned up painted vintage truck is still a show stopped and a girl getter..

This is a 63' long bed that started out as a 2x4 and was converted to a 4x4 using a 73' Chevy as a running gear donor. I did not do the work but know the guys who did and they say almost everything bolted right up.
