Thanks for the compliments guys but my truck is far from being a "Rat Rod". I see it as a nice square with retro styling and semi-flat paint. The "Rat Rod" label is way over used!

As for Rats.......

You may be in the wrong thread if you don't like those....

I honestly don't think I've ever seen a "rat" squarebody. Seen a lot of thrown together outta spare parts drivers though....

Those are bad examples of rat rods. But back then nice paint didn't matter. As long as it went fast everything else was unnecessary luxery

I agree here these machines are more made to look like pieces of art. I don't . care so much for the rust look but would like to see one that has a modern paint job. my .02

Re: Any rat rod versions?

this is my pos. the term ratrod is dumb. if your old enough its jalopy. but no matter what, every one has their own style.

ive been offered 6500 AS IS for my pos.. so utter crap to you is something to someone else.
and FYI i have about 1200 dollars into building mine. thats a pretty good return.

i think squares are late to be able to be a rat. but here's mine. 4 different colors (5 now), im not too worried about how it looks, just how it drives. i chuck my bmx bike in the bed, lean my dirbike on the fenders, cover in in gritty mud from loggin roads and pressure wash it off. aint nobody got time for a decent paintjob lol

Here are a couple of my favorites... both probably have to much money in them to be called "rat" or "rum runner" or "jalopy" but they are awesome to me witch is what the whole deal is about... being cool in your own eyes, and not really caring who doesn't like it.

Re: Any rat rod versions?

I think the name rat rod is way over used not that I don't like some of the vehicles that are coined as rat rods but to me a rat rod is essentially a field car ( one that was pulled out from the back pasture or behind the garage, etc...) that was pulled out and has a big block aka rat motor stuffed in the engine bay full of go fast goodies and is made to run fast and have fun with little regard to what the vehicle looks like

I agree that the rat rod is way overused and i am one who has done this but when i said in this thread i used it pretty loosely, but even tho your truck is not a rat rod it doesn't take away from the fact that its a sick truck which is what i was getting at. :metal: as for everyone else Rats are not meant to be pretty and all dolled up, its mean to run good and cheap homebuilt with what you have and personally i think the world could have done without boyd lol i was just hoping someone had done a rat of a square even tho it is probably to late of a body style.
