New guy from Connecticut

Hi everyone, forum noob here, ;)

I have a 99' K15004x4 xtra-cab...the last of the classic body style ones in Pewter/grey. I've had it since new !! 135,000 on it now. Been a great truck although the rust has taken hold of the cab corners and the the rear chrome bumper...such is life in New England but honestly it looks like it rusted from the inside out. But WTF, I've seen older K1500s with no rust in the same areas. How does that happen? :waah:

I do have one problem, again...the spider injector is starting to go again, truck runs rich and misfires going up slight inclines...I already replaced it at about 80K too, now I gotta do it again. Is there a better brand of these things?...I think the last one was Delco from NAPA.

Thanx for the reply Scott.

I wonder...I often, but not always, put in a can of injector cleaner (Lucas or Chevron) into the gas tank....could it be the solvents in them that is eating away at the injector lines?

I did find a joint that sells rebuilt spider injectors with a 2 yr warranty for about $200. I'll have to get one soon if the misfiring gets any worse.

Eh i dont think so because i have been putting BG cleaner in my stuff for years and it doesnt seem to hurt anything. The Ethenol out there will not do it any favors thats for sure but some places dont give the option..

That makes me feel better, thanx Scott.

I was 'hoping' these cleaners were safe....like they claim they are.

No problem

I generally run a can every 3-4 tank fulls just to give it a break so to speak, now i run the diesel treatment in my TDI Jetta and it seems to help the fuel mileage so i run it more frequently but then again i drive it non stop it seems.
