Panel/Suburban Parts For 64-66?

Does anyone know of a good source to get Panel/Suburban parts such as barn door parts, tail lights, glass and more?

You can check the classified ads on this site-stuff shows up from time to time.
As far as repop items- some of the retail houses like LMC, Brothers, Car and Truck Shop, have various parts, but not many suburban or panel specific items. Best of luck tracking stuff down, sometimes the "thrill of the hunt" adds to the joy of the build.

Check out this place for Sub/Panel parts. www.456chevytrucks.com He has a yard full of subs, Panels, and Pickups, and does resto work as well.
Hope this will help you out

I don't know of any manufacturers that make repo barn doors. Your best best is classified ads. I also don't know of any aftermarket rear lenses either, otherwise I would have ordered some.

Taillight lenses for the subs and panels are available through Classic Industries, Trim Parts, and most other classic truck suppliers. I got mine about back in the 90's through Classic Industries

actually tail light lenses are not available anymore. At least not at the normal locations. I bought a pair back in 2011 and put them away in the garage for when I was ready. Then last month I had an accident (my way of saying I did something stupid  ) and shattered them. I've been looking everywhere since trying to find a pair. At least a pair of new ones anyway. I may have to bite the bullet and buy a pair of used scuffed up ones but I'm still looking. All the normal sources (brothers, classiccarparts, truckandcarshop) are all out of stock with no info on when/if they will ever get more. From what I understand the molds were broken and they are not making them anymore.

I'm thinking seriously of trying to find an old pair to make a mold from and give my hand at making my own. Shoot I may even be able to make some money on the side making them for others. But for now I'm still looking. If anyone comes up with a confirmed source of new ones, please dont keep it to yourself.

Re: Panel/Suburban Parts For 64-66?

I apologize to everyone. I didn't know some nitwit broke the molds and the lenses weren't available anymore. I'm glad I kept some of the originals I found in a salvage yard several years ago, and the original set in their original boxes. Good luck to all finding them. If I come across any, I'll post it here.

I think that when the time comes, I'll try the Alumilite products to make new lenses....

Sign me up for the first order of your 'homemade' repops!
I've been looking for months now, and can't locate those tails!

I remember perrot13 had a pair for sale about a month ago, but they sold before I could finish typing my post!

Anyways, PLEASE, keep me posted if you, or anybody, comes across a set.

Cheers,

For the gas tank, I did what MikeS did. I used a replacement 73-81 Blazer tank until the remanufactured senders for the original came out. The only problem I had, was finding a gas guage that would work. The tank came from JC Whitney, and fit perfectly. I did have to modify the filler tube though> I found another tube for my original at Desert Valley Auto Parts in North Phoenix, but I cant find a locking cap that will stay on. Check with Desert Valley for an original tank. www.dvap.com Good Luck

That's pretty much what I found out on the Blazer tanks.. I took a deep look into the tank I dropped and its not bad at all. Inside is very clean and I just re did the patch job some one did on the filler tube by soldering it with aluminum. Looks like all I need to find is a new replacement fuel sending unit assy and it will be ready to put back up. Thanks for the replies...:metal:
