Duplicolor Metalcast

Finally found the Duplicolor Metalcast, the anodized looking paint. Anyway shot it on my alternator. Turned out pretty good.

Anybody want to post the pics for me, shoot me your email to devall@cox.net

I see the attachments are working again. I will post some pics tonight of the alternator.

I'm anxious to see that paint! Don't recall ever seeing it in the stores.

I used that stuff on my wheel opening mouldings so they blend in with the color of my truck.I don't have any pics yet because i'm not done yet. Darcy

So far so good! Been on a week and still on no chipping or flaking.

Picked it up at Auto Zone. $5.99 for the red and $4.99 for the base coat. It also comes in blue and gold.

Wow, that's cool as hell.

I used that on my 87 Burb grill. Looks really nice.

Last time I checked Wal-Mart it is $4.96 for color and $3.96 for base. Sounds to me like Auto Zone is making a little too much profit.

Did you sand before or just spray it on? Is the fan just silver paint?

I brushed it with a wire brush then wiped it down with paint thinner and sprayed the base coat. The pulley is just aluminum high temperature paint. Did the same with it. (brushed and thinner) The only reason it is in high temp paint is that was all I had.
