Been thinking about one of the little HF lathes but really prefer an older one.
Found one on CL and bought it. Can't wait to try it out!

I love machine tools and just machine work in general! I quite enjoy messing around with my lathe. I usually don't have anything important to make, but a little practice on some scrap metal never hurts!

Those straight cut gears will probably make quite a bit of noise too.

Wow, that is really nice, looks brand new. Never knew Craftsman made a tabletop metal lathe. Looks like a fairly good size, what's the bed and throw on that?

Mind sharing what it cost?

Looking forward to making some noise! My luck the 1st "important" thing I will need to make will be just a bit too big for this lathe.

Its not 100% original but as long as it works well I'll be satisfied.
Might start seeing about finding "correct handles, etc."
I paid $340.00

Very cool! Nothing wrong with the old industrial Craftsman machines!
There's a lot of things normally done on a mill that you can tackle on your lathe too.
Have fun!
