.040 over 396?

phantom dually 06-12-2003 10:54 PM

Your scaring me with that 1/2" ratchet on the crank bolt. I have a friend that broke his off. That would suck!!!!

MylilBowTie 06-12-2003 10:55 PM

lol Lookie at that bore and the skinny line of metal in between the cylinders... DATss a 400

makes a 350 look like a 305 with way the bore and closeness of the cylinders. Looking good :D

swervin ervin 06-12-2003 11:03 PM

Sweet. Makes me want to start searching for a good 400 core.

What'cha think you gonna have it when completed? I'm nosey. :D

MylilBowTie 06-12-2003 11:17 PM

Ive seen a buncha 400s on ebay but they all 4 bolt mains
I only seen one questionable 400 sbc with 2 bolt mains but it looked like it sat outside for a while and got rust all over it.

CHP built one a couple years ago with the same cam and heads and they got 439 hp and 497 ft/lbs only difference is i'm using the solid version of the cam so hopefully i'll be closer to 450 hp and 500+ ft/lbs. plus i'll be spayin it a little bit.

BigRed 06-13-2003 12:05 AM

Very nice! I'm just a tad jealous. :D

TIMSPEED 06-13-2003 12:34 AM

Wow, I've never really seen a 400sbc up close like that. That's BEARLY any material in between the bores!!

PHOENIX 06-13-2003 12:46 AM
