Lifted 2wd or 4x4

I'm not sure if anyone has started a thread, but I'd like to see some of 73-87 squarebodied trucks lifted 2wd or 4wd, short bed or long bed, if you post a truck that is yours can you please tell me the specs lift size and tires. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what the ratio is in it but I know it is a Detroit locker, plus the tranny has a shift kit.

Oh alright, yeah I know when I lift it, I'm going to drop the gears down some to help with a little bit better fuel. But I was kind of undecided on what lift I was going to do a 2.5 but I'm thinking I'll be happier with a 4 or 6 lift.

When you go over 4 in lift on these trucks you have to get the driveshaft lengthened a few inches, plus you can still run 35s'' with a 4 in lift, but if you dont mind getting the driveshaft lengthened I would go with a 6 inch and 35's like you said looks just right.

Yeah I'll just have to look into some more, I mean to lift it I'll do what I have to do the only thing that would prevent me from going to a 6" lift is the people who ride with me, though that's a simple solution as well just get some step bars which I was planning to do. I love the way it looks on your truck though. What size tires you running on the truck?

Yeah there's some sweet looking steps that for sure!!! I just can't decide if I'll do like a longer style to take up where the body is if that makes sense or just do a single one if that makes any sense at all?

She's a beauty!!! I like the orange it pops, and the bushwhacker fenders are pretty sweet too, not too bulky to me there just right!

Re: Lifted 2wd or 4x4

Thanks! I had to get them, they were my only option according to the local law enforcement officers. They have the maximum (3") coverage, and now I can fit even bigger tires if I want to.

77ChevySharkBite 02-06-2013 06:38 PM

Re: Lifted 2wd or 4x4

Yeah it looks like it, but why did you have to install them? Are the tires only allowed to stick out so far up in PA?
