Does it still run???

That appears to be a later model TBI engine due to the valve covers, it looks like you have a Edelbrock carb on it now. TBI engines did not have a block mounted fuel pump they used an in-tank pump (many are machined for a block pump just no fuel pump rod and they have a block off plate on the hole). Squares other than the late model TBI trucks did not have in-tank pumps so they had to add an inline pump to get fuel up to the injection/carb. If that was your only fuel pump your truck will not run once it empties the bowls.

Then it may have been an added transfer pump.

Re: Need help on a couple of things

do you guys know around what model engine do i have or how can i identify it?
there were to more switches like the one that i showed do you guys think they can be killer switches?

Re: Need help on a couple of things

They are just toggle switches that could be used for anything from powering the radio to energizing the nitrous system. What they are hooked to would tell us if they are kill switches and we have no way of knowing that without wiring information and pictures (of the wires they are hooked to).

Guess on the engine would be 87/88-94, I think vortecs started in 95 and they had different heads/valvecovers

Re: Need help on a couple of things

the only thing i could tell you right now is that they are red idk if that helps. ill check tomorrow when i get home from work

Re: Need help on a couple of things

Nope. for instance the red wire in the earlier picture is not a factory wire. Clear pictures of where they are hooked in will be the most help as well as information on where the wires they use go to ie back into a factory harness or ignition switch. I'll check back tomorrow.

If you look straight down in front of the passenger side head where it meets the block there will be a flat spot, might take a little cleaning, but there will be something stamped there to aid in identification.

Dang boy, rotate them pictures before you post, I cant hold my computer unside down long enough to make sense out of it. The red and green wire in the engine compartment do not appear to be factory so if they were hooked to them then trace the wires to see where they go and that will start to give oyu some answers.
