We are starting the Overhaul
3 Attachment(s)
Not so much a complete overhaul as much as a fix up I guess. Plans call for updating our 1972 original 1/2ton burb' with a 350/350 combo pretty basic from the factory. Plans call for the following;
New windshield New wheels Serpentine belt drive Electric cooling fan Either a 700r4 or a 5speed manual Update seating Rocker rust repair Sound system Paint and I am sure there will be more. The purpose of this is to build a vehicle that is full of style and class, to teach my kids mechanics, and to also show that a nice vehicle can be had on a budget. I am a disabled vet that after 20 years of working, my injuries have caught up and I am limited now in what I can do and believe me disability pay is not much so the cheaper things prevail. I have done a lot of research on this forum and a lot of what many have done will be done on mine, First being replacing the windshield this weekend along with the start of new seating in the front, I will try to post all the progress as it happens. I am sure there will be surprises and changes along the way but I am excited about the build. BTW the date stamp on the camera is wrong these pics are from November |
Re: We are starting the Overhaul
Nice burb. Sounds like good upgrades you have planned. I love those wheels.

Re: We are starting the Overhaul
You wanna save some money? Don't go with new wheels, polish up those period correct mags and add some new tires. That would be a very cool "upgrade", and save some serious dollars.
Have fun with the project, should a good learning experience for all. |
