From what you can see, it looks complete and straight w/good hood. Some of the two-tone trim has been home painted to change from yellow to black, no big deal I guess. If all items are present and decent in the "camper" it might be a decent deal for a Chalet if he's negotiable - that's two big IF's.

My thanks to 1985-GMC for relaying this to me, since I tend to stay within the "Blazers, Jimmys, & Suburbans" subsection board here. The seller also is not helping himself by not calling it a Chalet anywhere in his ad.

The massive problem I see with it are the straps going from one side to the other over the roof. Anytime that's seen, it usually means the pop-up roof has been blown clean off the vehicle as it was going down the road. Plus the top is the wrong color, it should be tan like the rest of the camper. Could be they are using an altered top from a Toyota/Datsun Chinook.

The Huntington Beach Chalet that Hulk mentions in post #5 is serial #0918, built 11/76, but the various Craigslist ad links for it have all expired. For anyone unaware of it, we track these by the serial # found on the little plate by the back door, as seen in my former Chalet #1747. I'll try calling the Seattle seller to find out what his rig's SN is.

As for the one in Phoenix, I gave up keeping track of its constantly changing-out Craigslist links, it actually has been listed there and at eBay Classifieds going all the way back to February of 2011. It is #0714 built in 8/76.

Re: Blazer Chalet - talked to the seller

Just talked to Mike, the seller. His rig is serial #1102, and I think he said it was built in either 7 or 10/76

What makes this sale a bit different is his pile of original paperwork. Among other things, he has some kind of blueprint build sheets for the camper, which I've never seen before.

Problem is, he is computer illiterate and has no way of taking photos and emailing those. Big favor, if it is easy for someone to do: Is anybody in the nearby area able to visit him and take better-than-average photos of those blueprints?

No obligation, of course, but I'd be indebted if anyone could. The guy is a car nut, has another Chev truck for sale, and seems like a nice fellow, so such a visit might be entertaining overall.

Yah I will give him a call. Maybe I can convince him to sell the papers if it will help aid us in restoring these rare trucks

Tell him the guy in Phoenix sent ya. Better for those blueprints to stay with the vehicle since they actually note the serial number of his camper unit on them, which I never heard of before. But to get good quality photos of 'em, that would be best.

Re: Blazer challet find.

Take the blueprints to Kinko's and get copies or digital scans made of them, that would be a great way to preserve them.

Re: Blazer challet find.

Ok. I have a camera that can take real high resolution photos or I can try and find a kinkos to make some copies.

That's fabulous! No obligation, of course. Likely easiest would be to put the blueprints on a clean spot on the floor and take perhaps two overlapping photos if it won't all fit within the frame of one photo. A Kinkos copy would be even more professional, but no need to do that if it ends up to be much trouble. I can probably spot the cost of the copies and postage for mailing a tube if you decide that's the best option, but I'm quite poor otherwise.

I believe just the one main blueprint is the key item which shows the camper unit, if I got that right from the seller. His other big print might be a just a wiring diagram for the Blazer, maybe other guys might find that an important thing to photograph it isn't a commonly seen item. It sounds like the other paperwork and manuals he has are items that I had, apart from a warranty card.

Yah I will get a lot of pics of the prints if not just get them photo copied

Always glad to have more eyes out looking for these. In a quick zip through my spreadsheet, I have four or so that were or are in the Wisconsin area, but I've lost track of their current status. What is always good to me is the serial #/build date along with a photo or two. Thanks in advance!
