Oil filter
Hi folks from Chula Vista.
I need to change the engine oil, but its hard to find it, the filter is the old type thet goes in a container. I want to know if I remove from a 80's 350 engine the base that holds the filter can I put it at my old engine and use the regular oil filter. Thanks |

Re: Oil filter
They still sell the old style filter or you can get a conversion kit.

This is what you need. Then you can use a modern oil filter and not worry about if the parts store has the old cartridge type in stock. |
Re: Oil filter
What motor do you have?

Re: Oil filter
I'm not sure if the engine is 350 or 327 or 283.
I'll check the ebay but do they say wich filter fits on that conversion kit? Thanks |
Re: Oil filter
The link I posted for you from ebay is correct for any small block chevy engine and will use a AC Delco PF35 or equivalent oil filter.
