53 Extended Cab, Finished

1 Attachment(s)
The 53 Chevy is finally finished, with the completion of the calibration of the speedometer.
The truck will be going to the GoodGuys in Scottsdale in March, and it will be in the swap meet area, and looking for a new home
Here are a few shots, I have more if anyone is interested.

Outside of Tucson, just down the road from the "Sticker Patch" at least that is what we called it 63 years ago when we arrived here!!

Mike it is South of you about 98 miles!

How much is that cab extended? It looks like you stretched it to use a short box on a long bed frame like I plan to do but I am stretching the doors rather than the back of the cab.

Looks really nice. Proportions look good. Not too much strech but just enough.....I like it. Digging the old school aluminum slots too.

We added 10' and it was slip the back onto the front cab until it looked "good"
If were smart we would have measured a long wheel base frame and saved weeks and weeks of work!
The long WB frame I THINK IS 9" different than a Short WB. The running boards were the worst to finish!

Thanks, According to the info I have the difference is 9-1/4 inches between the wheelbase of the short bed and long bed trucks. The shortbed being 116 and the long bed at 125-1/4.

I've been accumulating pieces for the past 20 years to build the stretched cab on the long wheelbase frame and hope to finally have it up as a roller this year.

............... O K, if we would have made it 9 1/4" shorter instead of 10" we could have saved a lot of time !!

I've had the long wheelbase frame for mine for about 20 years and four moves and have had lots of time to measure things.

If I manage to get the trans in and hooked up in the box with wheels and get the engine either repaired or swapped in the 71 GMC I'll be able to actually work on the 48 again.
