i need somebackspacing help

i have a 1983 chevy c10 and im planning on doing a 4/6 static drop. the rims i want to use are http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rp...6130/overview/ the problem is that i need to use a wheel adapter to make the bolt pattern work since i dont want to change my hubs. the adapters are 1.25 inches thick so my question is will the rims work in the rear without rubbing?
thanks

Re: i need somebackspacing help

If my math is correct, (subtract 1.25 from 6.75) the adapters will change your back spacing to 5.5" which will work. However, I dont see the sence in buying new wheels and new adapters when you can get wheels that look near the same and come in 5 on 5 with correct backspacing. Look into Boss wheels. Even with the adapters, the wheel lip is still going to be small and I dont think you will like them.

i take it your talking about the boss 338s the only problem is i like the sharp look of the rocket boosters and not the rounded look of the 338s. do you happen to know of any other rims that have the sharp look of the rocket booster that aren't over $400 for 20x10s?

Re: i need somebackspacing help

We put a set of 20X10 inch Boss 338 rims on my son's 86 truck. We put a set of 1.25" thick spacers on the rear axle to get the rims to set out and actually fill the wheel well. The Boss rims had a backspace of 6.7 inches and there was plenty of space in the wheel wells for this setup. I would expect your spacing to be the same.
