Wiring
I need to know where some wiring goes in engine compartment, there is a round plug with a light green and a dark green wire I think temp sensor ? The other is a dark green wire with two clips on the end ,any help would be great. Thanks Ron

Re: Wiring
Got any pictures? the temp sensor is a single wire (green I think) with a flat blade spade connector. The 2 wire with a round one may be reverse switch.

A little more info would be good too. A/C or no, year of truck, six or V-8, ect. The wiring can be different for every configuration... LockDoc |
Re: Wiring
It's a 1972 v-8 turbo-400 no a/c

How big is the round connector? Sounds like it might be the tail light connector but it would have four wires to it, Light Green, Dark Green, Yellow, and Brown and is about 1 1/8" in diameter. The only single Dark Green wire I know of without A/C would be the temp sensor but I've never seen one with two clips on the end of it. Like jbcassix mentioned, pictures would really help on this one. LockDoc |
Re: Wiring
I cant think of anything on the engine other than ac for the single green. What about lighting or fan?

Re: Wiring
The first one is your temp sending unit wire.
The second one I am not sure about, but I don't think it is for the horn. Since the horn needs only one wire, and the horn has a male blade connecter. |
Re: Wiring
I thought the first pic might be the horn.

Re: Wiring
It may be the jumper for hi/lo horns. Mind has a green jumper between them.

Re: Wiring
Is the second one the turn signal wiring? The one that goes through the core support the the turn signal with pigtail connects to?

Re: Wiring
That was my thought for the second one ...the engine side for the front turn signals should have one on the other side as well

Re: Wiring

Re: Wiring
The second wire has a two prong connection that fits perfectly on the drivers side of a turbo 400. Not sure if thats where it goes but the exact length runs directly to the two prong (if you have one) connection on the tranny. I'm have the same wire running and I'm trying to figure it out as well.
