Looking for a NP 440, A 833 manual transmission found in 81-85 chevy/gmc trucks. Will need the bell housing and shifter as well. Cash reward if you have info that results in a successfull purchase. thanks. Allan PS: I have seen the one on ebay but seller refuses to ship, and or ship to Canada.

Man, I wish you were asking a few weeks ago. I saw (4) at the wichita swap meet, (2) were absolutely to the nut and bolt complete, one had a shifter and the other was rebuilt by a four-speed rebuilder, but no bellhousing or shifter. I do have the card somewhere that belongs to the rebuilder, if you want me to look for it...but you'd still have to scrounge the bellhousing and shifter.

2wd or 4wd?

DP, please ignore.

2wd or 4wd? Manual or hydro clutch? They were available both ways and the 2wd and 4wd output shafts and shifters are not the same.
Thee's a couple good threads on the 73-87 board about them. The shifter and bellhousing are hard to find.

Leevon: Just my great timing eh? Thanks for the reply. Yes I would appreciate the # for the rebuilder. Will keep you informed if we make a deal.
BTW I am planning on putting this in my recently acquired '77 stepside shorty daily driver.

D13: Its a 2 wd, currently linkage clutch. Its actually a stock 3 speed right now, with a 250 six. I know the shifter and bell are unique (from research on this site).

Thanks guys for the help. /Al

I'm not 100%, but I think this is the guy who attends the Wichita swap meet, and if so then he has a couple NP833's. We talked about them a couple years ago, said he can build them to take some torque.
