Backspace?
 
Hi I wanted to know what does Backspace means and what is it. Tomorrow im going to go see some wheels that are 15x8 with a 3 1/2 backspace.Will they fit my 1977 c10? will I have problems?

backspace means how many inches are from the lip of the rim to the mounting surface.

need to know if truck is lowered or not . If not lowered , should be ok in the rear . Front could be a problem .3.5 bs is pretty extreme for the front unless you are running pretty skinny tires

really because i wanted to go kind of wide maybe like 295

Again , if your truck is stock or if its jacked up , no problem on the front even with 295,s , but it will definitely hit your fender lip if lowered . Be careful , get other advice as well

As of right now its not lower but i was planning to lower it
