What do your nicknames mean?

Some of you have self explanitory nicknames...eg. 72gmcshorty. Some are not so simple eg "krue". Please explain what your nickname means I'm just curious. Thanks

Alexis 06-16-2003 04:57 AM

it's my name.:D I'm a guy and yes Alexis can be used for a guys name but also a girls. I was named after a boxer in the early 80's. let see if anyone know which boxer I'm talking about.

Palf70Step 06-16-2003 05:31 AM

Palf70Step - Palf...something folks use to call me quite a bit in the Air Force. Rest of my name too long..so it was shortened.

70Step....I'll let youns figure that out.

Used it, eventhough its not as common as what I am called today...but since this is a family oriented board, I couldn't use the rest in public away from GIs. :D

krue 06-16-2003 06:06 AM

Kruier is my given name, no one can pronounce it so it got shortened to Krue.

onetoncrewcab 06-16-2003 06:58 AM

I guess mine is (hopefully) one of the easy ones to understand. See my sig block below. I now have two 1TonCrewCabs. Although the one might not count as much to some of the members here. LOL

Darren
by the way Murphy is my given last name

seacrow 06-16-2003 07:57 AM

MIne is a little different. About 8 or so years ago, I was horribly depressed and going through a bad divorce, etc. I got in my truck I had back then one day after court and I had been playing the "August and Everything AFter" CD by Counting Crows. My friend gave it too me thinking I would like it. Just in time to hear track number 11, a song called "A Murder of One". Great song. I became a crowhead from then on. I have used the name "seacrow" ever since. It is derived obviously from "Counting Crows".

I went from sleeping in a car and working for a carpet cleaning company to being remarried and owning more than 2miiliion dollars worth of rental properties. And of course doing a complete frame off on my grandfathers GMC. I know it's silly but that music helped me do it.

cleatussnow 06-16-2003 08:39 AM

Cleatus Snow.

The name of the greatest truck driver, in the greatest movie ever!

When I was in School, all of my buddies and I had CB's so we all gave ourselves "handles" ie. Shepard, Lost Sheep (Dukes of Hazard) and my buddy wanted to be Bandit, so I told him that if he was Bandit he had to have a Snowman and the name just kinda grew from there...

Cleatus,

Aka Pete

Gee_Emm 06-16-2003 09:08 AM

greasemonkey 06-16-2003 11:14 AM

I was the only one in my family interested in cars, so at a young age my family members started calling me "greasemonkey" or just grease or monkey sometimes. I got a truck, found this site, and there you have it.

My wife dubbed my truck "bouncytruck" because with the big tires & short wheel base, it is a bouncy ride!

fatfords 06-16-2003 12:46 PM

Well, the first vehicle I ever bought was a '53 Ford pickup and I now have a '56 that I am slowly working on. I have collected several parts/project trucks from the 53-56 era. Before you toss me off the forum, all that run have Chevy motors! :bowtie:

oldsub86 06-16-2003 12:49 PM

Oldsub86 relates to a vehicle that I had for about 10 years - a 1986 Chevy Suburban. I tried Oldsub (on another site) but it was taken so had to add the year to make it work. Have used the same name on various boards - easier to remember etc.
