Dashboard welding
Does anybody have any pics of welding their dash where the window sits? Mine is rotted out pretty good and I got a replacement dash from a junkyard. I am terrified I won't be able to get the bottom part of the window frame straight and welded correctly. Somebody please enlighten me. Thanks!

Re: Dashboard welding
Here is a link to a thread I posted to. The dash panel has 34 spot welds and four bolts joining it to the body. It is a big project that rust does not help.

Re: Dashboard welding
I got a replacment cab that did not have a dash in it ,but came with a good uncut dash from a junkyard. The dash was removed due to radio area being cut up.I cleaned up the area where the spot welds are with a grinder on both the dash and cab and then treated with a rust converter. I put the dash in and put all four bolts in snug and then lined up the pinch weld area where the window rubber will be. Then when it looked good I put a lot of
clamps/vice grips on it and started welding through the holes in the dash where the spot welds were. Just make sure the two flanges are good and tight no gap between them. Mine turned out nice. I did not think to take pictures while I was working on it ,but I could send you some after pics as I have not painted it yet.I did not have to take the dash out,but I think going back in would be easier than taking the old one out. If you could that would be great. I just don't want to make any mistakes. Thanks!
