71 K-20 left for dead!

1 Attachment(s)
I couldn't leave it there after i looked it over. It is rough to say the least. Frame is shot, doesn't run, no title. Looks to have a few good parts on it yet. The owner couldn't believe it when i told him it was a parts truck. Had to put a few miles on to get it and pay a fair price. Now you know what i did today. Here comes a teaser pic.
Enjoy...

Black/White with Parchment trim. This was a nice truck in it's day.

OK, here are the pics...

Last 2 pics. Is that an HO52? and the extra front is a dana 44 but takes a small lockout? Any info on that? Later model maybe?

The small lockout is a 77 to 80 if it's a Dana 44 , corp 10 uses the same hub.

That must be what it is. It has a 44 on the web and a tag reads 4:11 i think. Would the shafts be the same as the big hub 44?

They'll still add a little weight when you scrap it

Nice find. The marker light option in the SPID, is that a reference to clearance lights?
Funny how a trashed 4x4 excites me more than a nice lowered truck. Orange in the pictures but black on the SPID? Curious... Have you had a chance to dig through the interior?
I found a stick of wrigleys, .22 rounds, change, and a eagle scouts sterling silver ring.
Woot woot!

Eric, we have alot in common, I also had a K20 on the trailer yesterday. I wish it was mine but i was hauling it back here for another local board member.

That must have been quite the truck when new given hooks, tach, and that color scheme, looks like its on the second body. Is the frame heavily pitted or why isn;t it good?

Eric,

What are you plans for it? Are you going to part it or build it?

Yes, the roof has the raised pads for the roof lights. Not much else inside...

Did you haul another one for jeremy?
It has had a lot of paint work i think. Inside the cab looks right yet.
Frame is bad. Rusty.

Not worth building, the pics actually make it look better. Not sure what to do with it yet.

Too bad it's so rough, it had some really nice options for a base model truck. Still lots of good parts on it though.

Eric, the axle shafts on the later axle take a slightly larger axle u joint but they will interchange with the early 44, it's a popular upgrade for the 71-72 axle.

Don't scrap the tow hooks and cluster! The tow hooks look like they could easily be blasted and painted/powdercoated. You'd get much more money for them that way ;)

Nice find Eric, the ole boys in Minnesota must of had more money than Kansas boys back in the day, your trucks always have more options than the one I find down here;)

Randy, there are alot of janers up here also. If this didn't have the hooks and tach i am not sure if i would have bought it for his price.
